Help me to support the non-profit To Write Love On Her Arms (To Write Love On HerArms) by clicking on the SocialVibe badge at the bottom right of this page.

To Write Love On Her Arms is a movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. This movement exists to encourage, inform, inspire and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery.

Depression is a mental disorder affecting adults and teenagers around the world. It is a disabling condition characterized by a low mood, low self-esteem and loss of interest or pleasure in normal enjoyable activities. Depression can affect anyone and negatively affects a persons entire life and general health.

Statistics show 121 million people in the world suffer from depression, with more than 20 million of those people being in the Unites States. Depression is very common, but can be very deadly. About 2/3 of the people with depression never get treated and untreated depression is the number one cause of suicide. But there is hope. Depression is a very treatable condition.

Addiction is the persistent compulsive use of a substance known by the user to be harmful. There are many reasons why someone who has an addiction does not get treatment but a lot of the time the user is too afraid to get treatment. They also feel that nobody cares about them. To Write Love On Her Arms deals with these issues.

Self-Injury was not well known until 1996. It is also known as self-mutilation and self-abuse. Self-injury can be characterized by cutting, burning, hitting self or objects, burning, etc. It is an addiction just like alcohol and drug abuse. The good news is that most people who self-injure are not suicidal and there are treatments available.

Both depression and addiction lead to suicide. It is estimated that one person every 40 seconds around the world dies from suicide. This is a big issue in all areas of the world.

To Write Love On Her Arms brings awareness and encouragement about depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. The movement helps people find the treatment they need. It gives people the hope they need to see that there best days are ahead of them. All of this reduces the suicide rate, not just in the United States, but around the world.

So, do what you can to support this cause or your favorite cause?
