Macy’s is hosting its 6th annual Shop for a Cause today (Aug 27, 2011). Shop for a Cause raises money and awareness for charities all over the United States.
Some of the charities participating are: American Cancer Society, Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Washington, Pet Rescue of Maryland, Inc., Avon Foundation for Women, American Kidney Fund and many others.
Charities get Shop for a Cause passes that they sell for $5 and they get to keep all of the profits.
Customers who purchase the passes not only get the satisfaction of donating to a charity, but they also get 25% off most merchandise in Macy’s stores and online. Customers are also automatically entered into a drawing for a $500 gift card.
